DAY 12 – CVX and my Work Fit Club

Standard

Day 11, Its was cardio day for P90X3. At first I was a little scared of CVX, mainly because it was Cardio with weight. This week i used a 5 pound dumbbell. Next week I will increase it some. For this month I have been part of my works Fit Club.

What it entails is tracking our steps, (they are using a Fit Bit, I’m using a Jawbone Up) and for 5 weeks we meet for an hour and work out. This week really kicked my butt, but I really enjoy it. We did cardio, that’s right 2 times I did cardio. What it includes was an good warm up then I did 150 squats, 150 dead lefts and 6 flights of stairs (with the green band, 80 pounds) then 150 alternating shoulder presses, 150 bicep curls(with the red band, 50 pounds), and 150 triceps dips. and about 200 push ups. To say the least I WAS DEAD. When I woke up the next morning I felt every muscle that i worked. The problem with this was I couldn’t do my work out for the day (The warrior), but my plan was it was going to be done after work. Then i got stuck at work late, and since the week was so slow (I’m am Honda technician) I had to work Sunday to make up the hours i was missing. So here it is Sunday. First I worked then we had a birthday dinner for my Brother in law (turned the big Two Oh), Now I’m typing up this blog entry until my Team conference call comes up (about 20 mins)……SIGH. I HATE FOLLOWING BEHIND. So this will be a long night for me, after my team call, I have a busy schedule, Complete my “Warrior” work out, complete my stretching work out (Dynamax) and then shoot my Workout videos for my wife’s and I’s 7 day fitness club.

As much as it sounds like I am complaining, I really love doing all of this. Fitness is a very close second to working on cars for me. In another blog i will be laying out my schedule for this year, telling you my “why”, and Telling you my Goals for 2014. As always i love everyone who follows me and reads my blogs. Day 5 I completed my “CVX” program. For what it was i loved it, this was the first time I did this program. This one will get your heart rate up. You are moving the WHOLE TIME, and the wonderful cherry on top is that you get to use a weight with it. I choose to use a 5 pound dumb bell and i believe it was the perfect for me, I was able to do the work but it still made me work.

Day 6 – On Saturday i completed “The Warrior.” As Tony states all you need is You body, Mother Earth, and Gravity. This is the same workout that he has done on over 42 different Military bases. Its a full body workout that makes you feel great. The best part is that its only as hard as you make it.  I also did another round of “The Challenge” with my wife. I love this work out.

Day 7 – On Sunday me and my wife was able to go out for the first time in a long time. My wonderful mother in law watched our 2 girls so that we could go to a birthday dinner for our friend.

Day 8 – Things got a bit harry in the morning, I went to bed too late and then i didn’t get up when i needed to. Then with the whole snow storm and other things i got home late. All in all I’m a little mad i missed it.

Day 9 – My wife and I did a little realignment on the schedule. Today we did the Total Synergistics that we missed on Monday and we did Yoga. We did yoga first as a warm up, and I can tell you that it made HUGE difference. When i did the Total Synergistics i had a lot better range of motion when i did this workout. On the slate for tomorrow is Agility X. This is the closest you can get to a sports training camp, without being in sports.

Keep an eye out tomorrow for my measurements after the first week of P90X3. Remember if you like this please hit the like button on the bottom. This lets me know this is content that my followers like.

Here is some Food for Thought : Consistency is King

Starting last year i got into fitness and biking in a big way. In Fredericksburg where i live i joined an awesome group of riders called FAMBE, Fredericksburg Area Mountain Biking Enthusiast. Because of that group I completed some bike races that i would proboly would never had done, one being a Duoathon, and the other being a 12 hour race. Just recently on of the members put a link to this blog about training. As i was reading it, i realized it would work in any part of your life. The point of the blog was that you have to be Consistent in anything you do. That one day that you make an excuse will be the beginning of the slippery slope of more excuses. I will tell you this happen to me yesterday morning. My alarm went off at 5am, i went to roll out of bed and then i noticed that my nose was bleeding. So i roll back into bed. i ended up sleeping for another hour or so. Granted i probably could’ve have worked out but it would’ve restarted the bleeding, but beyond that I still should’ve gotten up,and completed my other task that i needed. Getting up at 5 am is the new habit that I am working on becoming one that is Auto Pilot.  Below is the link to the blog entry i was talking about.
